By registering for or enrolling in a (SIMPLY CHEF RENEE) class you agree to our policies as follows:

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations, Exchanges, Credits and Refunds
To cancel a paid reservation and receive a refund the cancellation (for classes) must be made in writing and made no less than 4 days before the class date.  For private events, more than 20 participants, cancellations must be made no less than 2 weeks to receive a partial refund.  Partial refunds are as follows:  10-14 days, 30% fee assessed; 5-9 days 40% fee assessed; 1-4 days 75% fee assessed.  (NOTE:  In an effort to provide you with a delicious and memorable class and/or event we select the best and freshest ingredients available to us at the time and therefore your food orders are placed, selected, delivered and paid for closest to your class/event date and are not returnable to our vendors).  The fees assessed are based on total fees charged including any additional costs per requested by the client(s).  * (See event contract for special events cancellation policies and procedures.)  No refunds, exchanges or vouchers will be provided to changes or cancellations made on the day of the class and/or event nor for no shows — without exception.

Class reservations are fully transferable meaning should a registered and paid participant become unavailable to attend a class he/she may send someone else in their place with written permission to simplychefrenee@gmail.com. Written permission may be emailed prior to the day of the event including the “replacement’s” name and email address.  Changes and cancellations may be made in person or by calling 860-830-1169 during business hours (9:00 – 5:00pm) and speaking directly to one of our team members (verification of identification will be asked and required). Due to potential timing issues as SCR will be focused on making sure your class/event runs smoothly, we cannot accept or honor cancellations sent by email less than 24 hours of the scheduled class or phone messages/voicemails less than 24 hours.

In the event SCR cancels a class a new class will be offered valued at the same amount of the original class and/or the class will be rescheduled and participants will be notified via email.

Cancellations due to “acts of nature” or circumstances out of the control of SCR (power outages, traffic accidents, building closures, etc.) will be handled as they occur with every effort to ensure your safety and satisfaction. 

Substitutions and Class Format
SCR reserves the right to substitute ingredients, menus, recipes, chefs and instructors.

Format of classes:

Classes are in 2 formats: (1) Hands-on and participatory in style. Our class size is limited and classes are structured to allow each participant the opportunity to work closely with the chef/instructors in the preparation of dishes and to observe, up-close, the ingredients, tools and techniques used in the making of dishes.  (2) Demonstration (Demo) – Demo classes are instructor driven classes with minimal hands-on participation from participants.  The instructor demonstrates proper use of tools, techniques used, prep work, cooking and plating.  He/she may ask a class participant to join him/her during the demonstration and ALL class members share in the “tasting” portion of the Demonstration Class.  A Q&A session follows when selecting this format.
