Hello and thanks for visiting my blog today.  Yes, it is true, I am actually a trained, certified and licensed chef, but I promise that the dishes I create are ones that any person can make!  Here’s a little bit more about me.   I received my culinary training and education at Johnson & Wales University, Rhode Island campus (Harborside) and I earned my  bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University.   I have always enjoyed food, especially good food. I grew up in a household of seven and I can recall one of the dinner table rules, “You can’t leave the table until your plate is clean.”   Was that supposed to be punishment?   I loved it!  Still do.

I am the proud mother of three wonderful children (2 college grads and one off to college).  I am married to a brilliant attorney who is also an author as well as an insurance executive. Busy man!

Jump forward a few years and I am still in love with food!  In fact, I host a community television (cooking) show entitled “Simply Fresh Food with Chef Renée,”  which airs in both Connecticut and parts Massachusetts.  My hope on the show is to provide viewers like yourself with a fresh approach in selecting, handling, preparing and cooking foods that enhance your life.   I want to bring cooking and eating with family and friends back around the dinner.  What wonderful memories are made at a table of happy and satisfied people.  When I’m not cooking or working on developing new recipes I might be performing a cooking demo, giving a lecture on nutrition, food selection and preparation or planning an event.  When relaxing, I might be found at a library, off on a long drive or traveling in search of new and different food ideas and learning other culinary cultures.  My latest adventure is this blog!   I am still fresh to “blogging” and tend to spend quite a bit of time doing it!  Other past times are gardening, listening to audiobooks and my absolute favorite thing to do is relax on my deck with a stack of magazines (home, cooking, gardening, decorating, etc.)!  I am working on my very first cookbook which I hope will be available in 2016. (Keep your fingers crossed for me!)
